Frequently asked questions

Still deciding? These are the questions we hear most. For anything else, we are a message away.

How do I choose my first bowl or set?

Selecting your first singing bowl or set is an exciting exploration into the world of sound healing. There's no "wrong" choice—what matters most is the connection you feel. We combine your intuition with our expertise to guide you toward a bowl that resonates with your intentions and fits your budget.

Beginners often ask if some notes or alchemies are better than others. The truth is, no note, alchemy, or bowl is inherently better or worse—they simply possess different qualities. Through interpretation, the combinations of different notes and gems and minerals—alchemy—can potentially support different aspects of our body and being. That being said, the most important thing is how it makes you feel.

For those just starting out and looking for a simple way to enjoy the full potential of singing bowls, we recommend a three-bowl set. With three notes, you can create a chord; major chords have a bright and warm sound, while minor chords are perceived as more moody and emotional. This is a great starting point and most of our three-bowl sets are designed to stack within each other, fitting neatly into one small carrying case.

However, this is just the beginning. You can expand your set as much as you like. Each additional bowl will add another dimension to your set and allow you to explore greater levels of creativity and expression.

Many find that their initial choices often change after hearing and seeing the bowls firsthand—virtually or in our studio. That’s why we invite you to approach this process with an open heart and an open mind. Arrange a studio visit or an online consultation to hear the instruments and ask questions before choosing.

What are Crystal Tones Alchemy Singing Bowls?

Crystal Tones Alchemy Singing Bowls are crafted in the USA from crushed quartz crystal. Known for setting the standard in exceptional sound quality. Different gems, minerals, and combinations thereof are added to the quartz crystal, giving each bowl its unique energetic signature, colors, and textures. Praised by practitioners for their superior resonance and tones, these bowls are also lightweight and durable, making them ideal for easy stacking and transportation, whether in a studio or on the road. They offer an unmatched functionality and sound experience.

What's the price range?

The pricing of our alchemy singing bowls is influenced primarily by three factors: the types of alchemies used, the number of alchemies, and the size of the bowl.

  1. Type of alchemies: Alchemies involve the precious metals, gemstones, and minerals infused into the bowls. Some materials are rarer and more expensive than others.
  2. Number of alchemies: All crystal bowls start as mostly quartz crystal. A single alchemy bowl has one added material, a double alchemy bowl includes two added materials, and so on. The more alchemies included, the higher the price due to the complexity and the value of the materials used.
  3. Size of the bowl: Larger bowls require more material and labor to craft, which increases their cost.

Price range

  • Our alchemy bowls start around $1,000.
  • We have some three-bowl sets in the $3,000 to $3,500 range, which serves as the entry-level price point. Prices increase from there based on the specifics of alchemy and size.

What makes your curated sets special?

Curating alchemy bowl sets is truly a labor of love. Each set represents hours of meticulous care and time spent thoughtfully hand-selecting every bowl. We carefully consider sound, energetic quality, aesthetics, and stackability to create sets that are seamless and complete.

Alchemy bowls come in a wide range of pitches, sizes, alchemies, and combinations of alchemies, with only a finite number of each available. Because every bowl is unique, the sets we create are completely one-of-a-kind. You’ll never find two sets that are exactly the same—that’s part of their beauty and what makes them so special.

What you’ll find here are some of the highest-level bowls in the world, brought together in the most thoughtful and intentional way. These sets are ready to support your work—whether for one-on-one sessions, group healing, private sound baths, or even performances on a professional stage. They are ready to meet you and your practice, whatever shape it takes.

What do the note and number on my bowl mean?

On your alchemy bowl, you’ll see a sticker indicating the size of the bowl, the note (like C or F), and a number after the note. This number might be 0, a + (plus), or a - (minus), followed by a value like 5, 10, or 20. This number represents the cents, which describe the exact pitch of the bowl.

Cents and pitch

Cents are a way to measure how much higher or lower the pitch of a bowl is compared to the standard version of that note. For example:

  • C0 means the bowl is exactly on pitch for the note C.
  • C +10 means the pitch is slightly sharper (higher) than a perfect C.
  • C -15 means the pitch is slightly flatter (lower) than a perfect C.

Why is this important?

When combining bowls in a set, matching cents is crucial to creating a pleasing and harmonious sound. If the cents of two bowls are too far apart, the sound can feel disjointed or unbalanced.
